P2P File Sharing

File sharing can be described as the practice of transmitting files from one computer to another over a network or the Internet.

It exists many times of files sharing but the one who is the most popular nowadays is the Peer-to –Peer (P2P).

In a P2P network, the “peers” are computer systems, which are connected to each other via the Internet. Users can directly access, download and edit files such as books, music, movies… using a P2P software program that searches for other connected computers on a P2P.

Most people use P2P network to download and upload movies and music such as BitTorrent, which is one of the most successful P2P program.

In the article The BitTorrent effect written by Clive Thompson , we learn that this P2P program allow its users to download quickly “enormous amount of data ,files that are hundreds or thousands of times , bigger than a single MP3”

Thanks to BitTorrent users can easily and quickly download the episode of their favourite Tv shows they have missed.
